Dyson Car+Boat Handheld Vacuum
$250-$300If you want a handheld that actually replaces your full-size for spot jobs, this is it. The suction is in a different league, worth every penny if you're serious about clean.
What holds up
- 110,000 RPM spin speed with 115 Air Watts, comparable to larger Dyson models
- 40-minute battery life, longest of any handheld tested
- Three attachments: mini motorized brush, crevice tool, combination tool
- Lifts embedded hair from upholstery and high-pile carpet
- 2-year parts and labor warranty
What to know
- Heaviest pick at 4.2 lbs, noticeably heavier than competitors
- Dustbin is small and unintuitive to empty (pull red lever, not the bin itself)
- Expensive at $250-$300
- Only two cleaning modes, no digital display
It's small, but has a powerful suction, with a spin speed of 110,000 RPM (comparable to other bigger, more expensive Dyson models) and a crevice tool that made it easy to suck up crumbs in hard-to-reach places like in between seats and in upholstery crevices.
Our tester also used this Dyson to clean up foam from a bean bag chair, debris from their high-pile rug and carpeted steps, and even things that their upright vacuum can't handle, like a dental floss pick.
