The Best Steam Cleaners

Updated May 2026·Experts: Good Housekeeping, The Spruce

Best Overall
$400-$500 at Amazon

The Euroflex is the clear winner if you want serious cleaning power and don't mind the premium price. Real users and expert labs consistently praise its ability to handle tough jobs with minimal water residue.

What holds up

  • Internal boiler produces dry, high-pressure steam that minimizes splashing and speeds drying
  • Converts between floor mop and handheld steamer with removable wands
  • Includes parking mat to protect floors during cool-down
  • Front steam jets dissolve stuck-on soils before the heated bottom plate engages
  • 16 accessories and attachments for versatile cleaning tasks

What to know

  • Hose is relatively short at 4.5 feet, limiting reach
  • Pricey compared to most other models
  • Requires cool-down period before refilling the pressurized tank
Expert verdict
In our tests, cleaned very well thanks to its built-in boiler that produces hot, dry and pressurized steam. And because the steam is drier than with non-boiler models, surfaces dry quickly and messy splashing and splattering is minimized too.

Expert verdict
The pressurized steam blast on the Dupray is noticeably more forceful so it did clean more quickly and with a bit less effort. Keep in mind that when steam hits a cold surface, it condenses so expect to sop up the water it leaves behind. I had to do this with both steamers, though somewhat less with Dupray's drier steam.
