Elgato Facecam Pro (4K) vs Logitech C920

The Facecam Pro is the only webcam on the market that outputs 4K at 60 frames per second with no compression. That's not a marketing bullet point — it means your face cam footage is genuinely broadcast-quality and won't look soft next to a mirrorless camera. The C920 tops out at 1080p, which is fine for most uses but will look noticeably dated if you're streaming on a 4K monitor or producing video content in 2024.

The C920 regularly goes on sale for under $60. The Facecam Pro sits at $200-$300. That gap buys you a decent microphone, a ring light, or a month of streaming software subscriptions. If you're not actively streaming or recording video content where resolution is visible to an audience, you will never notice the difference in your day-to-day video calls. The Facecam Pro's premium is only worth it if you'll actually use what you're paying for.

Both webcams have built-in microphones, but the C920's is a known weak point — it picks up room noise, sounds thin, and will immediately mark you as someone who hasn't invested in their audio setup. The Facecam Pro's audio is better but still not a replacement for a dedicated mic.
